We had a fantastic day on Wednesday because it was our first full day back working together in the office, socially distanced of course!
This was made possible because we have been able to use a big meeting space in our building where we can spread out and have all the necessary Covid secure measures in place!
We started the day off with and British Sign Language (BSL) training session for the people on our Aspiration, Inspiration, Motivation (AIM) project.
During the session, we continued practising what we have learnt so far and starting to use that in conversations. We are all getting really good at it now and enjoying being able to practise together face to face.
In the afternoon, we had our first Wednesday meeting with Helen and Joanne to talk about our projects and the work we need to do.
We are getting ready to start delivery of our Cancer Red Flag & Lung Health roadshows in across the North of England. This is really exciting because these plans have been on hold for the past year. We are all looking forward to getting out and meeting new people.
We ended the meeting with Emma and Lisa updating us about their new steering group with our volunteers who will be developing podcasts for us in the future. We aim to have our first podcast available in Learning Disability Week.
Keep watching our website and Facebook pages for news about our roadshows. If you would like us to visit your group, contact Helen or Joanne on 0151 329 2137.
