My name is Helen Flett and I started working for People First Merseyside in March 1999 as an office support worker.  Over the years I have done different jobs in People First Merseyside but I have been in my current role as the Coordinator since May 2006.

My job as the Coordinator means that I have to manage the paid staff and all of the project work.  I also write funding applications to help bring in money for new projects and other work.  I work closely with our Board of Directors, at the meetings each month, the Directors tell me what work they would like me to do and I give them feedback about the funding.

I really enjoy my job at People First Merseyside and I love working with the members who I have supported on so many projects.  I have learnt so much from the members over the years and am so proud of all the things they have achieved.  It is due to their commitment and hard work that People First Merseyside always exceeds on our projects.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time at my caravan in the Lake District, I go there most weekends and holidays.  When I’m not in the Lake District, I go swimming, take part in aquafit classes twice a week as well as going to the gym to keep myself fit.

I am also part of a local pub quiz team with my friends, we try and go at least once a month, we have won quote a few times!

I love dogs and have a greyhound called Lenny, I support my local retired greyhound rescue charity by attending their fundraising events and walks with lots of other greyhounds and their owners.
