Yesterday we started the computer course with Jayne Moss from Sefton Community Learning Service. The first session covered the basics: turning the computer on, using the Start menu and opening and closing the programs. We need to know this before we can move on to Word processing, emailing and going online.

The members worked in pairs or small groups, with one member learning and one offering peer support. Everyone was busy and found it helpful. Karen has learnt how to find a program and open it. Paul has learnt how to use a touchpad mouse and Phil found out that there was a spell check in Word. Members practised what they have learnt in Tuesday’s session and we are all looking forward to next week.
