This week we worked on our telephone skills. We practised answering the phone at the People First Merseyside office in a professional manner, including introducing ourselves and asking how we can help. Then we added a role-play about taking and relaying messages. We stressed how important it is to write down the caller’s name and phone number. We will continue with more practical scenarios next week.
We also did some daily office tasks like stapling together new documents and shredding the old ones. Emma populated the office calendar with events and meetings that are happening in the future, which is important now that we are spending more time in the office. Iain typed up notes on the computer and Jade got some feedback about the project from the members.
