NHS England have asked us to check their Easy Read glossary.

This is Jade and Jayne’s update about what we have done so far.

“We have been asked to look at an easy read information Booklet. It is called a glossary. It is written from A –Z and there are lots of medical words and explanations of what the words mean and pictures.

We’ve had a read of the information to see if people with a learning disability will be able to understand it.

We talked about the different medical words and what they meant and if we want change any of the words or pictures in the booklet. We all put over are views about the things that need to be changed and to make sure that it makes sense and people with a learning disability will understand it.

We have some more sessions coming up and will be feeding back what we think the NHS England.”
