Friday the 1st October saw the start of People First Merseyside’s Autism Social Group, part of the Autism Advocacy service. This group has been set up for Autistic people without a learning disability, over the age of 18. It was well attended, with 5 attendees on the day and more confirming attendance for week 2. The social group will run every Friday afternoon 1-3 pm, and if demand is high there may be another day added. There were some good ideas put forward for future activities in the group, including going for walks, some board games/quizzes, and also guest speakers. the group also said they would share any other ideas they may have. The group engaged well and got the chance to meet others with the same condition in a safe space.
