Today we did our first British Sign Language (BSL) session with Steve McKenna from Merseyside Society for Deaf People (MSDP).
Steve taught us some basic rules of the BSL, like which hand to sign with if we’re left-handed or right-handed, and how to sign a hyphen in the surname. We then practised fingerspelling and learned to introduce ourselves with our first and full names. But most importantly – we found it interesting, we had fun and we are looking forward to next week.
As Phil said: “It was electric! Magical!”
