Our Health Matters project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All, aims to look at ways of improving people’s physical and mental health, through gaining a better understanding of and ability to manage our health conditions.

We will be looking at many topics such as social isolation, physical exercise, stress, coping techniques, diet and many more. We are also keen for each topic to include real life experiences, so each of our members has chosen to speak about their lived experience of a health condition that they have.

We are hoping to explore lots of different areas and improve the services available to adults with Learning Disabilities and Autistic adults, throughout the year long project, so far we have worked with Spire Hospital as well as the LD and Autism Team at Liverpool University Foundation Hospital Trust.

Overall, within this project we are hoping to improve people’s physical health, emotional wellbeing and social connections. We have many activities booked into our busy schedule, such as group walks, accessible sports activities, pamper sessions, meditation and many more!
