My name is Lisa Smeaton, I have been employed by People First Merseyside to provide the Autism Advocacy Service. This post has been funded for 6 months by the National Lottery Coronavirus Community Support Fund. This service is for Sefton residents with a diagnosis of Autism without a learning disability. During lockdown many people will have become isolated and lonely. Many people with Autism have found it increasingly difficult to engage.
This service will help build confidence in meeting new people, making first contact and introductions with services that can help them move forward with their lives.
I will be helping people who find it difficult to communicate, supporting them to engage with services that can help them take control of issues that may be affecting them, or help in moving forward.
