On Wednesday 8th July our training team Lesley, Lisa and Simon did a fantastic job of training GP reception and admin staff.
Over 100 people attended the event at Bootle Cricket Club from all over South Sefton, Our Learning Disability Awareness training included using role play to help them understand how people with learning disabilities should be treated when going to the doctors, we also looked at using the phone and how that can be a barrier.
We had group discussions talking about how more people are being asked what is wrong with them over the phone and not being given an appointment.
The team worked really well together, and the feedback we got was really positive the event organiser said “I have organised many of these training sessions and i’ve never know people to engage in the way they did today.”
Well done team.
