For our 2nd walk we walked along the Leeds Liverpool Canal and we had a marvellous morning. The weather was gorgeous, the canal was full of goslings, ducklings and a huge number of waterbirds. The hedgerows were full of hawthorn blossoms – it was a beautiful walk. One of the fences on the far bank had been painted to look like a narrowboat and the owner boasted that it was “the narrowest narrowboat in England!!”
The members who will only be walking 4 miles on the day finished up at Cookson’s Bridge and the HealthFirst members made their way back to Liverpool for a upbeat zumba session with our coach Jo Parry. The rest of the team continued on.
We will be having practise walks every Thursday. We would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Moriarty Civil Engineering Contractors http://www.moriarty.ie/ who sponsored us £50 – THANK YOU!
To all our supporters please wish us luck and sponsor us!
